Supporting our Troops |
As we become aware of credible ways to show your support for our troops and the effort in Iraq and elsewhere, we will include them here. |
A non-profit Delaware company operating on donations only, sends 110v single phase air conditioners to our troops in Iraq. They also send medical supplies to the Combat Support Hospitals for both injured American Soldiers and for the staff, as well as various basic items the soldiers request and desperately need. We do not accept used heaters or air conditioners. We buy new heaters and air conditioners (all the exact same model) and we ship these units directly to the soldiers in Iraq. These units are 110 single phase and if the soldier is on local power (220) we send a transformer which is used so that the AC unit is able to be run on the 220 power. The Heaters are on sale now online via the Home Depot link on this page or please send us a donation and we will purchase the heaters and send them to the individual troops via the US postal system (no hazmats in the heaters)! The heaters are $34.99 From the Operation A/C website |
The USO (United Service Organizations) is chartered by the Congress as a nonprofit charitable corporation, it is not a part of the United States Government. It is endorsed by the President of the United States and the Department of Defense. Each President has been the Honorary Chairman of the USO since its inception. The USO mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to uniformed military Personnel. The original intent of Congress—and enduring style of USO delivery—is to represent the American people by extending a "Touch of Home" to their military members. The USO is sending care packages that include requested items such as pre-paid worldwide phone cards, sunscreen, travel size toiletries, and messages from Americans who want to thank them for their service. As days turn into weeks and weeks into months, reminders from home are welcomed by the troops. From the USO website |
