Everone has a story to tell and we want to help friends, family and others stateside to better understand what it's like in the theater of operations. We are interested in stories about life in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a military unit, interaction with the Iraqi abd Afgani people, humor, unique events, celebrations, and introspective pieces. We are not interested in taking a perverse look, but a peek behind the curtain to better understand the life, victories and struggles, joys and anguish, of our military men and women as they do the work of protecting us and bringing freedom to rest of the world. We know our soldiers are not merely a military machine, but living, breathing human beings who face, in some ways, many of the same things they did back home, just in different circumstances. At the same time, they must deal with the special struggles of living in a combat zone. While much of our focus is on Iraq, if there is someone in another combat area, such as Afghanistan, we would also like to hear from you too. It is our policy to reprint a letters without editing other than formatting for a webpage. Photos accompaning text are welcome. We ask that both words and photos are tasteful and within military guidelines. If you wish to send a friend a link to this page to invite them to share their experiences on the front lines, insert their e-mail address below and click send. <<Letters From Iraq Support the Troops>> |
