Following is the official list of American military personnel killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in November 2003.  Click on the name to go to the "Fallen Heroes Memorial" page where you can leave condolences and remembrances.  Recent entries may not yet be linked.

Oct 31:

Army 2nd Lt. Todd J. Bryant, 23, of Riverside, California, was on patrol in Al Fallujah, Iraq when an improvised explosive device exploded. 2nd Lt. Bryant was assigned to 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Oct. 28:

Army Pvt. Algernon Adams, 36, of Aiken, S.C. Died at Forward Operating Base St. Mere, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries. Assigned to the 122nd Engineer Battalion, Army National Guard, Edgefield, S.C.

Army Sgt. Michael Paul Barrera, 26, of Von Ormy, Texas. Killed in Baqubah, Iraq, when his tank was hit with an improvised explosive device. Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Spec. Isaac Campoy, 21, of Douglas, Ariz. Killed in Baqubah, Iraq, when his tank was hit with an improvised explosive device. Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Oct. 27:

Army Sgt. Aubrey D. Bell, 33, of Tuskegee, Ala. Killed in Baghdad at the Al Bayra Police Station when his unit came under small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated at his location. Assigned to the 214th Military Police Company, Alabama National Guard.

Army Pvt. Jonathan I. Falaniko, 20, of Pago Pago, American Samoa. Killed while on duty near the police station in downtown Baghdad when a vehicle containing an improvised explosive device detonated. Assigned to A Company, 70th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Oct. 26:

Army Pfc. Steven Acosta, 19, of Calexico, Calif. Died in Baqubah, Iraq, from a non-hostile gunshot wound. Assigned to C Company, 3rd Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Pfc. Rachel K. Bosveld, 19, of Waupun, Wis. Killed in Abu Ghraib, Iraq, during a mortar attack on the Abu Ghraib Police Station. Assigned to the 527th Military Police Company, V Corps, Giesen, Germany.

Army Lt. Col. Charles H. Buehring, 40, of Fayetteville, N.C. Killed in Baghdad, Iraq. Buehring was fatally injured during a rocket-propelled grenade attack on the Al Rashid Hotel. Assigned to Army Central Command Headquarters (Forward), Fort McPherson, Ga.

Army Pvt. Joseph R. Guerrera, 20, of Dunn, N.C. Killed in Baghdad when his vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device while he was on patrol. Assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army Staff Sgt. Jamie L. Huggins, 26, of Hume, Mo. Killed in Baghdad on patrol when his vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device. Assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Oct. 24:

Army Spc. Artimus D. Brassfield, 22, of Flint, Mich. Died of wounds received from an enemy mortar attack in Samaria, Iraq. Assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Sgt. Michael S. Hancock, 29, of Yreka, Calif. Died in Mosul, Iraq, when he was shot while on guard duty. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Campbell, Ky.

Army Spc. Jose L. Mora, 26, of Bell Gardens, Calif. Died of wounds received from an enemy mortar attack in Samaria, Iraq. Assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Oct. 23:

Army Capt. John R. Teal, 31, of Mechanicsville, Va. Killed in Baqubah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his convoy. Assigned to 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Oct. 22:

Army Spc. John P. Johnson, 24, of Houston. Died in Baghdad of non-combat related injuries. Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.

Army Pvt. Jason M. Ward
, 25, of Tulsa, Okla. Died in Baghdad of non-combat related injuries. Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 70th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Oct. 21:

Army Pfc. Paul J. Bueche, 19, of Daphne, Ala. Died in Balad, Iraq, when the tire he was changing on a Black Hawk helicopter exploded. Assigned to the 131st Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, Birmingham, Ala.

Oct. 20:

Army Staff Sgt. Paul J. Johnson, 29, of Calumet, Mich. Killed in Fallujah, Iraq, when the vehicle he was riding in hit an improvised explosive device and later came under small arms fire by enemy forces. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Oct. 18:

Army 1st Lt. David R. Bernstein, 24, of Phoenixville, Pa. Killed in Taza, Iraq, when enemy forces ambushed his patrol with rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire. Assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 508th Infantry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy.

Army Pfc. John D. Hart, 20, of Bedford, Mass. Killed in Taza, Iraq, when enemy forces ambushed his patrol with rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire. Assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 508th Infantry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy.

Oct. 17:

Army Spc. Michael L. Williams, 46, of Buffalo, N.Y. Killed near Baghdad when his vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device. Assigned to the 105th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, based in New York.

Oct. 16:

Army Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Bellavia, 28, of Wakefield, Mass. Killed in Karbala, Iraq, when attempting to negotiate with armed men who were congregating on a road near a mosque after curfew and the Iraqis opened fire. Assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based in Fort Campbell, Ky.

Army Cpl. Sean R. Grilley, 24, of San Bernardino, Calif. Killed in Karbala, Iraq, when attempting to negotiate with armed men who were congregating on a road near a mosque after curfew and the Iraqis opened fire. Assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based in Fort Campbell, Ky.

Killed in Karbala, Iraq, when attempting to negotiate with armed men who were congregating on a road near a mosque after curfew and the Iraqis opened fire. Oct. 13:

Army Pfc. Jose Casanova, 23, of El Monte, Calif. Died in Baghdad when an Iraqi dump truck swerved and rolled over on top of his military vehicle. Assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army Pvt. Benjamin L. Freeman, 19, of Valdosta, Ga. Drowned near Al Asad, Iraq. Assigned to K Troop, 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based in Fort Carson, Colo.

Army Spc. Douglas J. Weismantle, 28, of Pittsburgh, Pa. Died in Baghdad when an Iraqi dump truck swerved and rolled over on top of his military vehicle. Assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army Spc. Donald L. Wheeler, 22, of Concord, Mich. Killed in Tikrit, Iraq, when his unit came under attack from a rocket-propelled grenade while searching for a possible improvised explosive device. Assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Pfc. Stephen E. Wyatt, 19, of Kilgore, Texas. Killed in Balad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire struck his convoy. Assigned to C Battery, 1st Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Okla.

Oct. 12:

Army Spc. James E. Powell, 26, of Radcliff, Ky. Killed in Baji, Iraq, when his military vehicle struck an enemy anti-tank mine. Assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, based in Fort Hood, Texas.

Oct. 9:

Army Spc. Joseph C. Norquist, 26, of San Antonio, Texas. Killed in Baqubah, Iraq, when his convoy came under attack from rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire. Assigned to the 588th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Pvt. Sean A. Silva, 23, of Roseville, Calif. Killed while on patrol in Baghdad, his unit was ambushed by individuals using small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. Assigned to 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, La.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher W. Swisher, 26, of Lincoln, Neb. Killed while on patrol in Baghdad, his unit was ambushed by individuals using small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. Assigned to 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, La.

Oct. 6:

Army Spc. Spencer T. Karol, 20, of Woodruff, Ariz. Killed in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on a mission to observe enemy activity when a command-detonated device exploded and his vehicle was overturned from the force of the explosion. Assigned to the 165th Military Intelligence, V Corps, Darmstadt, Germany.

Army Pfc. Kerry D. Scott, 21, of Mount Vernon, Wash. Killed while on patrol in Iskandariyah, Iraq, when his convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Army 2nd Lt. Richard Torres, 25, of Clarksville, Tenn. Killed while on patrol in Baghdad when his convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Oct. 4:

Army Spc. James H. Pirtle, 27, of La Mesa, N.M. Died in Assadah, Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle. Assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Oct. 3:

Army Pfc. Charles M. Sims, 18, of Miami. Drowned in Baghdad. Assigned to the 549th Military Police Company, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Oct. 1:

Army Command Sgt. Maj. James D. Blankenbecler, 40, of Alexandria, Va. Killed in Samarra, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenades struck his convoy. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Pfc. Analaura Esparza Gutierrez, 21, of Houston. Killed in Tikrit, Iraq, when her convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenades. Assigned to A Company, 4th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Spc. Simeon Hunte, 23, of Essex, N.J. Killed in Al Khadra, Iraq, when an Iraqi citizen approached and shot him while he was on patrol. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 13th Armored Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Army Spc. Tamarra J. Ramos
, 24, of Quakertown, Pa., died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Washington D.C.  Ramos died of non-combat related injuries.  She was assigned to the 3rd Armor Medical Company, Medical Troop Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.
