Interesting site! The Ponce Inlet lighthouse caught my immediately. We lived in South Daytona from 1964 until 1975, working on the Apollo project. The work with MAPS sounds rewarding. Best wishes.

I am so grateful to find your site. Our son Michael Christian just arrived at F.O.B. Cobra. He is from Texas but joined with the group from Tennessee that has gone there to releave the group serving there now. All I knew was the name F.O.B. Cobra and that it was in the northern part of Iraq on the Iran border. I wanted so badly to know what city it was close to. When I typed in the name your web site came up and sure enough the article about helping the people relocate. Then in the comment section the note from the Sgt. with the Tennessee unit while they were still at camp Shelby saying they were coming in as relief. Thank you so much for being their. May God richly bless you. Drucille Christian

I just wanted to say that while the story is still newsworthy, the story about the bronze sculptor is not entirely correct due to the fact that the sculptor was actually paid by the US to create the scupture and he did not do it out of thankfulness to our country. That part can be considered urban legend as can be verified by several sources including the Army News Service, American Press Services and the Wall street journal. Follow this link if you would like additional information. It is still an interesting story. http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/kalat.asp

Your website was very nice. My husband is with the1/150th Armor out of WV which is currently serving with the 30th Brigade in Iraq. It is so nice to see people showing our troops support. It has been very hard on all the families left here at home. My heart goes out to the ones who have lost their soldier. They may be gone but not forgotten. MAy God bless every soldier on a safe mission and a safe return home and bless the families and give us all strength while our loved ones are away.

I came across your web site by punching in my deceased brothers name on the abc news website . My brothers name was SPC. Jocelyn Carrasquillo. who was also part of the 30th brigade. I want to tell you thanks for the info. on the monthly letter put out by the general. Although my brother has passed I still have a friend in that unit. Reading the letters gives me a sense of how things are going. Thanks again.

Just wanted to let you know, not a day goes by that I am thinking of you and praying for you. Keep fighting the good fight! You have my support, no matter what. I am praying for you families here at home too. I remain hopeful that this conflict will be resolved the way God intends. I am so proud of you and what you do. You are so very brave and courageous! You are doing what I cannot. Please know you are loved, missed and appreciated very much! I understand the sacrifice you have made. And I know it wasn't easy. I thank you for all you do. Whether here waiting for deployment or serving in Iraq, Afganistan, Haiti ---wherever you are. Thank you for looking out for us here and the freedom for which we cherish. God bless you and keep you.
