Following is the official list of American military personnel killed in action supporting Operation Enduring Freedom during 2001. Davis, 39, of Clarksville, Tennessee. Died in Afghanistan. Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel H. Petithory, 32, of Cheshire, Massachusetts. Died in Afghanistan. Army Staff Sgt. Brian C. Prosser, 28, of Frazier Park, California. Died in Afghanista. December 4, 2001 Navy Electrician's Mate Fireman Apprentice Michael J. Jakes, Jr., 20, of Brooklyn, New York. Died in the Northern Arabian Sea. November 29, 2001 Army Pvt. Giovanny Maria, 19, of New York. Died in Uzbekistan. November 25, 2001 CIA Johnny Michael Spann, 32, of Winfield, Alabama. Spann was killed during a deadly four-day prison riot near Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. November 18, 2001 Navy Electronics Technician 3rd Class Benjamin Johnson, 21, of Rochester, New York. Died in the Persian Gulf. Navy Engineman 1st Class Vincent Parker, 38, of Preston, Mississippi. Died in the Persian Gulf. November 10, 2001 Navy Machinist's Mate Fireman Apprentice Bryant L. Davis, 20, of Chicago, Illinois. Davis fell overboard from the USS Kitty Hawk on November 7 into the Arabian Sea. Search and rescue efforts continued for more than two days. Declared deceased on November 10, 2001. November 1, 2002 Army Sgt. Ryan D. Foraker, 31, of Logan, Ohio. Foraker was reported missing from his unit in Guantanamo, Cuba, on September 24, 2002. Exhaustive ground, sea, and air searches were conducted in an effort to locate him but were unsuccessful. Foraker's clothes and personal effects were found near the water's edge, leading the investigating officer, absent any evidence to the contrary, to determine that Foraker had died in the waters of Guantanamo Bay. An extensive criminal investigation uncovered no reason to suspect foul play. Foraker was assigned to the 342nd Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Columbus, Ohio. Declared deceased on November 1, 2002. October 19, 2001 Army Ranger Spc. Jonn J. Edmunds, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Edmunds was a passenger in a Blackhawk helicopter that crashed in Pakistan. Army Ranger Pfc. Kristofor T. Stonesifer, 28, of Missoula, Montana. Stonesifer was a passenger in a Blackhawk helicopter that crashed in Pakistan. October 10, 2001 Air Force Master Sgt. Evander E.
