I gotta admit, that was pretty easy. Karen is easy to talk about and I enjoy doing it. but now comes the harder part... |
I'm Steve and am not a Florida native, in fact, I'm not sure I'm a native of anything. Born in Oklahoma and since my parents were in the ministry, first the evangelistic field then pastoring churches, we were on the move often, seems like every two years or so. After moving to Illinois then Missouri, I landed in Florida in 1988 with my wife, |
Carol when I went to work for the Postal Service. Carol had polycystic kidney disease and after successfully dealing with it for 17 years, she succumbed to congestive heart failure in 2000 after a severe bout with the flu. We had no children and I had no aspirations of remarrying while trusting God for that part of life, when I met Karen, and as they say, the rest is history. Three days after we married I went from no kids to "grandpa" when our first, Camron, was born and have enjoyed the journey since. Katie, our second grandchild, was born 21 months later. My curiosity and interests run from photography, to computers and space. In addition to being a news junkie, I read a variety of books, enjoy trail and road bike riding, travel, gardening, a very diverse taste in music, and my passion, MAPS, Moblization And Placement Service. I've been blessed to be part of missions teams to the jungle of Venezuela, Patagonia, Argentina, eastern Hungry, the Andes Mountains of Peru, Baja, Mexico, Brussels, Belgium and Kocise, Slovakia. Some of these were trips taken with Karen. My current focus is merging two great interests, MAPS and computers, through building a web site where folks interested in MAPS can get the information needed to successfully organize a project. MAPSLink.com is in it's infancy, but you can visit and view the information and trips currently posted. |
